Kick ass girls, but much cooler

The body achieves what the mind believes.

story by: Antonette Byrne

Olivia and Isabella had been martial-arts kids since forever. While other kids played tag, they were out there drop-kicking imaginary villains and winning medals their moms kept “dusting someday.”

But secretly? They wanted to be fashion models.

Only problem: they were fun-sized.

Travel-size.

Carry-on approved.

Their favorite hobby after sparring was critiquing six-foot-tall models in magazines while sitting at a heroic height of 5’5” - 5’6”. They practiced runway walks in the hallway, turning like martial artists instead of graceful swans. It was chaos, but it was their dream.

Then one day, Olivia tagged along with her big sister to a real photo shoot. Her sister’s model friend, actually signed with No Ties Management.. Olivia was just trying not to trip over a light stand.

That’s when the photographer started chatting with Olivia and her sister.

“Height isn’t everything,” he said, snapping away. “You just need a photographer who knows how to make magic.”

Olivia’s sister shrugged. “Well, you’re over 18,” she told Olivia. “Do whatever you want. Preferably something legal.”

Fast-forward a few weeks: At Isabella’s house. Olivia barged into Isabella’s room like a SWAT team.

“Beach. Photoshoot. You in?”

Isabella blinked. “Do we have to suck in our stomachs?”

“Probably.”

“Okay, I’m in.”

And that’s how two martial-arts girls with the height of a WiFi router accidentally launched their modeling dreams—one awkward beach pose at a time.

Turns out, you don’t need long legs.

Just good lighting…

…a brave photographer…

…and the ability to hold a kick-pose for three seconds without dying.

My bed, your bed…
